"...I will never argue a case against you. Might get beaten."

— Acclaimed Trial Lawyer Gerry Spence,

in a January 26, 2000 Letter to Bill Mann

Bill Mann is a civil litigator, trial and appellate advocate.

He was born and raised in the small north central Ohio town of Norwalk. Bill became a full-time college student without graduating from high school. He received his B.A. in 1976 from Case Western Reserve University. While at Case Western, Bill earned Special Honors in Political Science for excellence in research and writing, earned membership in the History Honor Society and worked in the United States Congress as a Legislative Intern.

Bill received his J.D. in 1979 from the University of Dayton School of Law, where he was a member of the Constitutional Law Moot Court Team, and where he was named Best Oral Advocate in every round of the Law School's Moot Court Tournament. During law school, Bill was a Law Clerk at the Huron County Court of Common Pleas.

After graduating from UD Law, Bill was a Law Clerk at the Sixth District Court of Appeals of Ohio and then the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Bill is Board Certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association's Legal Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee (1987-present), and the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He has been a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio's Commission on Professionalism (1997-2002), the University of Dayton School of Law's Alumni Board of Trustees, and was President of the Franklin County Trial Lawyers Association (2001-2002). Bill received the FCTLA President's Award in 1996 and again in 1997, and the FCTLA's Sluggers Award in 2002. While he was FCTLA's President, that organization was named "Best Local Trial Bar in Ohio" by the Ohio Academy of Trial Lawyers.

Bill has been listed in Strathmore's Who's Who, Cambridge Who's Who, Marquis Who's Who In America, and has been recognized by other groups and publications including Martindale-Hubbell, which has given Bill an AV rating. According to Martindale-Hubbell, an AV rating is "a testament to the fact that a lawyer's peers rank him or her at the highest level of professional excellence." (Source: Martindale.com).

One of Bill's priorities is to promote cost-effective justice for the working class, the poor and those society has left behind. Bill believes that the American Dream is the promise that in America, everyone will be given an opportunity to build a better life for themselves.

Among the people Bill most admires are General George Patton, General Chuck Yeager, John and Robert Kennedy, and trial lawyer Gerry Spence.
